Jaipur: Rajasthan’s civil administration is witnessing an extraordinary phase of reshuffles, with the latest IAS transfer list revealing unusually high movement among senior officers. According to officials tracking the developments, several officers have undergone rapid and repeated postings under the current BJP government.
Bhawani Singh Detha stands out with seven transfers, the highest under this administration. Starting from Higher and Technical Education, he moved through Planning, Sports and Youth Affairs, Board of Revenue, Ayurveda, and Food & Supply, before being shifted again—this time to the Women and Child Development Department. Such frequent reassignments for a single IAS officer are considered extremely rare.
Similarly, IAS officer Shubham Chaudhary has faced six transfers, including short tenures as Collector in Kotputli-Behror, Sirohi, Rajsamand, and Sawai Madhopur. After a brief stint in Finance, he is now Commissioner of Horticulture.
In the past 22 months, officers such as Bachanesh Agarwal and Suresh Kumar saw five transfers each, while Subir Kumar and Soumya Jha were moved four times. Rajesh Yadav, after returning from central deputation, cycled through multiple departments before being posted as DG, HCM-RIPA.
Out of 216 IAS officers, only five have remained untouched by transfers. The DoP has also issued 45 additional charge assignments, making concurrent responsibilities a common administrative feature.
