Gang of Fraudulent Brides in Bihar Dupes Grooms, Flees After Wedding

Gang of fraudulent brides in Bihar involved in fake marriage scam

A gang of fraudulent brides in Bihar has come under police scanner after several grooms reported being cheated through fake marriages. The gang targeted men who were searching for brides and promised quick weddings in exchange for money.

According to police, the latest case came from Sasaram in Rohtas district. The victim met the woman through middlemen who arranged the marriage. The wedding took place legally at a court, making it look genuine.

Soon after the ceremony, the bride and her associates took the groom shopping and demanded cash and online payments. The victim paid nearly ₹3 lakh, believing it was part of wedding expenses. After that, the bride asked to stop at the railway station and suddenly disappeared.

The groom later realized he had been cheated and filed a complaint. Police acted quickly and arrested the woman along with one accomplice. Officers recovered cash and mobile phones used in the scam.

Police said the gang of fraudulent brides in Bihar used fake names and addresses. They moved from one district to another to avoid detection. Investigators believe more victims may come forward.

The police have warned people to verify details carefully before agreeing to marriage proposals through unknown agents.
