Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to prioritize temple-centric development in the Godavari basin and prepare for the upcoming Godavari Pushkarams. He instructed them to build permanent bathing ghats at major temples along the river to ensure smooth arrangements for devotees.
The CM held a review meeting at the Integrated Command Control Center in Banjara Hills on Friday. Endowments Minister Konda Surekha and senior officials participated. Revanth Reddy emphasized that prominent temples from Basara to Bhadrachalam should be inspected on the ground. He asked officials to finalize a list of temples that need permanent ghats and supporting facilities.
He directed that existing ghats be expanded and connected with proper roads. Plans should also include permanent facilities for sanitation, water, and pilgrim services. The CM said development works must accommodate up to two lakh devotees bathing at the ghats simultaneously during Pushkarams.
Revanth Reddy asked departments like Endowments, Irrigation, and Tourism to work together. He also stressed that each temple should have customized ghat designs suited to local conditions. Officials were told to coordinate early so that all arrangements are completed before the Pushkar festival begins.
