The Grand Alliance in Bihar is focusing on women in its 2025 election campaign. After releasing its manifesto for Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs), the alliance will now unveil promises for women. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will announce this in Patna.
The women’s manifesto highlights safety, education, and rights. It promises fast reporting of rape cases within 24 hours and better protection against violence. Women’s education is also a key point.
One major promise is the Mai-Behan Samman Yojana, under which Rs. 2,500 will be directly transferred every month to the accounts of needy women. This scheme, backed by RJD leaders, aims to support women financially.
Just days earlier, the Grand Alliance announced 30% reservation for EBCs in local bodies and a new law to protect their rights. Now, Priyanka Gandhi will address public meetings in Motihari and Patna to connect with women voters.
With these promises, the alliance is working to strengthen its voter base among women and EBCs ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
