The family planned to travel to Vapi for the engagement of 24-year-old Dev Doshi. His father Kamalbhai, mother Devalben, and younger brother Raj shared excitement the night before. They laughed, talked, and discussed the upcoming event. No one imagined that it would be their final night together.
According to initial reports, a fire ignited on the ground floor, likely due to a short circuit. The house had glass installations on all sides, which trapped the smoke inside. The poisonous fumes spread quickly, and the family could not escape. The four died due to suffocation before help arrived.
Firefighters and neighbours rushed to the scene, but the damage was irreversible. Locals said the sight of four bodies from the same home, especially on the groom’s engagement day, brought tears even to the strongest hearts.
