In Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal scheme, the Bihar government is facing delays due to divided responsibility between two departments. Minister Sanjay Singh said the Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal scheme should be handled by only one department to speed up the work and improve coordination.
Currently, both the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the Panchayati Raj Department manage different parts of the project. This system has created confusion and slowed progress in several districts.
During a discussion in the Legislative Council, members raised concerns about poor maintenance and irregular water supply in some areas. They said villagers often struggle due to damaged pipelines and delayed repairs.
The minister stressed that the government wants to ensure clean drinking water reaches every household. He urged officials to improve coordination and complete pending work quickly so that people can benefit from regular tap water supply.
