Haryana Sports Minister Takes Responsibility after two young basketball players died in Rohtak and Jhajjar. Haryana Sports Minister Takes Responsibility as he admits that the government must act without delay.

Gaurav Gautam spoke openly about the tragedies. He said the government cannot distance itself from a player’s safety. He added that the two courts did not belong to the sports department, yet the responsibility still reached his office.

The Rohtak incident happened on a panchayat-owned court. The Jhajjar case took place at a stadium under the education department. Gautam said that any athlete using any facility still falls under the attention of the sports department.

Hardik Rathi, 16, and Aman, 15, died when basketball poles snapped during play. The incidents shocked the public and raised questions about infrastructure safety across Haryana.

Gautam said the government will correct every gap. He ordered all District Sports Officers to inspect sports infrastructure in every district. He said the department has released ₹114 crore to the PWD for maintaining 92 stadiums and pushed for quick tenders.

He also said that an investigation is underway into the Rohtak officer’s suspension, while the Jhajjar case is still being reviewed.
