Andhra Pradesh Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav urged youth to actively participate in blood donation camps, stressing that voluntary blood donation is a vital service that saves lives. Addressing a blood donation camp in Vijayawada, the Minister said young people have the strength and social responsibility to support the healthcare system by donating blood regularly.
He explained that blood is critically required for accident victims, mothers during childbirth, cancer patients, and individuals undergoing major surgeries. Since there is no artificial substitute for blood, voluntary donations remain the only reliable source, he said. The Minister called upon colleges, universities, youth organisations, and non-governmental bodies to organise more awareness programmes and donation drives across the State.
Assuring donors of safety, he said the government is upgrading blood banks with modern equipment and trained personnel to maintain high standards. Appreciating voluntary donors, the Minister said blood donation reflects compassion and social commitment and urged youth to inspire others by leading from the front.
