The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Heera Gold MD Nowhera Shaik in connection with the multi-crore investment fraud case. Officials detained her in Bhubaneswar and started shifting her to Hyderabad for further investigation and court proceedings.
Heera Gold MD Nowhera Shaik has faced allegations of cheating thousands of investors through high-return gold investment schemes. Investigators claim the scam involved nearly Rs 5,600 crore collected from investors across India. The ED has already attached several properties connected to the case.
According to officials, the Supreme Court earlier directed Nowhera Shaik to return funds to investors within a fixed deadline. After the deadline reportedly expired, ED officials moved ahead with the arrest. Authorities are expected to continue questioning her in Hyderabad as part of the ongoing money laundering probe.
