High Court Calls SAD Arrest Illegal after a strong observation from the Punjab and Haryana High Court that criticised the police action against Shiromani Akali Dal IT Wing Chief Nachhattar Singh Gill. Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler, who also speaks for the party, shared that the court rejected the police reasoning and ordered Gill’s release without delay. Kler explained that the police picked up Gill from Pheloke on November 15. He said officers acted without proper grounds and ignored legal procedures. Moreover, Kler said the court’s ruling validated the party’s stand. He added that the decision reflected the judiciary’s commitment to fairness, especially when political tension continues to rise ahead of local elections. Party leaders also stated that the government created an atmosphere of fear by targeting people who manage digital communication and online outreach.
Gill, known for his active role in social media campaigns, became a key figure in Tarn Taran. His arrest affected several ongoing projects related to voter communication and public grievance responses. After the court order, supporters gathered outside the district office and celebrated the decision. They said the judgment restored their confidence and encouraged them to keep raising their voice.
Furthermore, senior leaders announced that they will pursue legal remedies in all similar cases and expose what they call “politically driven actions.” They also urged the government to focus on governance instead of settling scores with opponents.
