High Court hears challenge on ACB court order related to Naidu
A petition challenging the ACB Court’s refusal to give copies of verdicts related to former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was heard by the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday. The petitioner had asked for copies of certain verdicts passed by the ACB Court, but the court had earlier refused to provide them.
During the hearing, the High Court observed that normally third parties are not allowed to get copies of court verdicts unless they have a clear legal reason. The judges questioned the petitioner about what benefit he would get by obtaining the verdict copies and how he was connected to the cases.
The petitioner’s lawyer argued that the copies were needed in public interest. However, the court said it would examine the matter in detail.
After hearing both sides briefly, the High Court adjourned the case to February 3 for further hearing. The court said it would decide the issue after considering the legal aspects carefully.
