Home guard leaking information on movements of ACB officers was arrested in Vijayawada on Thursday following an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Officials said the accused shared sensitive operational details with private individuals.

According to ACB officials, the home guard was attached to an ACB office and had access to internal movement schedules of officers. He allegedly passed on information about raids, inspections, and officer movements to outsiders for personal gain.

The ACB launched an inquiry after noticing repeated leaks that affected surprise checks and enforcement actions. Officials traced the leaks to the home guard through technical analysis and internal verification.

After collecting sufficient evidence, the ACB team arrested the accused and produced him before a court. The court remanded him to judicial custody.

Officials said such actions compromise the integrity of anti-corruption operations and warned of strict action against anyone misusing their position. They added that internal security protocols would be strengthened to prevent similar incidents.

Senior ACB officers said departmental action would also follow against the accused. Further investigation is underway to identify others who may have received or used the leaked information.

The ACB reiterated its commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring effective enforcement against corruption.
