Dengue cases are rising in Hyderabad, with over 500 reported so far in the Greater Hyderabad area. Doctors have urged citizens to remain cautious and act quickly if symptoms appear.
Health experts warn that severe stomach pain, vomiting, joint pains, sudden drop in blood pressure, swelling in legs, and cold hands or feet are signs that need urgent medical attention. OUMC Principal Raja Rao advised residents not to delay hospital visits if these symptoms occur.
The spread of dengue has been linked to poor sanitation and stagnant water, especially in neglected plots and outskirts of the city. These conditions are helping mosquitoes breed rapidly. Authorities have urged people to keep their surroundings clean and free of waterlogging.
Doctors also suggest preventive measures such as using mosquito nets, repellents, and wearing long-sleeved clothes. They stressed that early treatment can prevent serious complications. Citizens are advised to get tested if fever persists and never ignore dengue-like symptoms.
