Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Dr. Parthasarthy, the head of a private management institute in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, is under investigation after multiple female students accused him of sexual harassment. Over 17 students, mostly on EWS (economically weaker section) scholarships, have reported inappropriate behaviour, including abusive messages and unwanted advances.
The case came to light in August when the institute discovered allegations during an internal audit. Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Goel confirmed that an FIR was filed on August 4 following a complaint by the college administration.
A key breakthrough was an email from a Group Captain in the Indian Air Force on August 1, highlighting Saraswati’s misconduct and “vindictive actions” towards female students. A letter from a former student, dated July 28, also detailed harassment patterns. After these revelations, the institute held a virtual meeting with more than 30 female students to gather accounts.
The FIR names Saraswati and three female staff members, including the associate dean, accused of pressuring students and ignoring complaints. Investigations revealed he kept a Volvo car with a forged diplomatic plate at the institute premises. Two FIRs have been filed: one for sexual harassment and another for the forged vehicle plate.
Saraswati, who has authored 28 books and claims to be a spiritual and educational leader, has a history of complaints, including fraud and molestation in 2009 and 2016. Police have recorded statements from 32 students, with 17 providing detailed accounts of abuse.
The Sri Sharada Peetham has publicly distanced itself from Saraswati, and authorities are actively searching for him as investigations continue.
