The IGIMS MBBS Exam Cancelled decision has created a stir in Bihar after authorities found signs of irregularities in a supplementary examination. The administration at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna cancelled the second-year MBBS supplementary exam following allegations of manipulation during the test.
Officials said the IGIMS MBBS Exam Cancelled move came after a probe found possible tampering in answer sheets and other exam records. Around 130 students had appeared in the exam held in December 2025. The institute issued show-cause notices to several employees of the examination department and seven students.
The issue surfaced after the administration received an anonymous email alleging irregularities in the examination process. A three-member committee led by the academic dean investigated the complaint and submitted its report to the institute.
The committee suspected manipulation in answer sheets because signatures on some copies did not match across different pages. Following the findings, the institute transferred examination department staff and assigned additional responsibility to senior faculty members to manage the exam system.
Authorities said further action will depend on the final investigation results.
