India

India and Russia moved to deepen their long-standing partnership during their 23rd Annual Summit in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin unveiled a 2030 roadmap that boosts cooperation in trade, defence, energy, nuclear power and space. Both leaders highlighted trust between the two nations and underlined their shared vision for a stable multipolar world.

They set a target of $100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030. Both sides agreed to reduce trade barriers, speed up work on an FTA with the Eurasian Economic Union and expand payments using national currencies. India and Russia also pushed new cooperation on fertilizers, skilled workforce mobility and two new Indian consulates in Russia.

Energy remained a major pillar. The two nations expanded plans for oil, gas, nuclear power, the Arctic and the North-South Transport Corridor. India also advanced talks on a second Russian-built nuclear plant site and joint manufacturing of nuclear components.

Defence ties shifted toward joint R&D and Make in India production for friendly countries. They strengthened cooperation in space, tourism, education and culture.

On global issues, Russia again backed India’s bid for a permanent UNSC seat. Both sides pledged closer work on climate action, counter-terrorism and regional stability.
