Indian-American teenager Tejasvi Manoj has won the Time magazine Kid of the Year 2025 award. The 17-year-old from Frisco, Texas, received the honor for her project Shield Seniors, which protects older Americans from online scams.
Indian-American Tejasvi Manoj earned the title for her determination to help seniors stay safe online. Time magazine praised her innovation, saying that older citizens urgently need protection and that Tejasvi provided it with dedication. Her recognition as Time magazine’s Kid of the Year 2025 shows the powerful role youth can play in solving real-world problems.
Through Shield Seniors, Tejasvi built a website to educate people above 60 about online scams. The platform analyzes suspicious emails and messages uploaded by users, identifies fraud, and provides links to report them. This helps seniors take immediate action and avoid financial or emotional loss.
In addition to the Kid of the Year title, Tejasvi also won the Time for Kids Service Star award. She joined initiatives that highlight young changemakers creating positive impact across the world.
