Indian Railways Special Trains for Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day will support thousands of devotees travelling to Sri Anandpur Sahib for the sacred commemoration. Indian Railways announced these arrangements to honour the legacy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the revered Hind Di Chadar. Moreover, the Railways aims to provide safe and seamless travel throughout the event.
Union Minister of State for Railways S. Ravneet Singh shared that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to the Guru’s ideals of sacrifice, faith, and human dignity. Therefore, the Railways introduced two special services to handle the surge in pilgrim movement.
The first service begins from Patna Sahib. A 22-coach train will leave Patna on 23 November at 06:40 hrs and reach Sri Anandpur Sahib the next morning. Additionally, the return journey will start on 25 November at 21:00 hrs. The train will stop at Lucknow, Moradabad, and Ambala.
The second service starts from Old Delhi. A daily AC special train will run from 22 to 25 November at 07:00 hrs, reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib by afternoon. Furthermore, return services will leave every night at 20:30 hrs.
Overall, Indian Railways encourages devotees to plan early and use these special trains for a smooth and respectful pilgrimage.
