Former Director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) said that India’s strategic future lies in strong universities and active innovation hubs. He stressed that research institutions play a key role in developing new technologies and strengthening the country’s scientific capabilities.

He was speaking at the Young Researchers’ Conclave held in Vijayawada on Wednesday. The event aimed to encourage young scientists and students to take up research and innovation. Special sessions for young scientists were organised, where experts shared their experiences and guided participants on career opportunities in science and technology.

The conclave also featured live demonstrations of advanced technologies. One of the main attractions was the launch of advanced rocket kits, which drew keen interest from students. The demonstrations helped participants understand practical applications of scientific concepts.

The former Director said supporting young researchers is essential for national progress. He added that investing in education, innovation, and research would help India face future challenges and emerge as a global leader in science and technology.
