Jagan Slams Chandrababu for Taking Credit on IT, Data Centre Projects

Jagan Reddy accuses Chandrababu Naidu of taking credit for IT and data centre projects started by YSRCP government.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, accused N Chandrababu Naidu of taking credit for Hyderabad’s IT growth and the Visakhapatnam Google-Adani Data Centre. He said YSRCP and YS Rajasekhara Reddy started these projects, not Naidu.

Jagan highlighted Hyderabad’s IT boom under YSR from 2004 to 2009. Projects like the Outer Ring Road, PVNR Expressway, and GMR International Airport were completed then. IT exports rose from ₹5,660 crore in 2003-04 to ₹32,509 crore in 2008-09. Telangana’s IT exports now stand at ₹2 lakh crore, built on YSR and KCR’s legacy.

He clarified that the Google-Adani Data Centre began in 2020 when his government allotted land for a 300 MW facility in Visakhapatnam. The subsea cable connecting Singapore and Visakhapatnam also started under YSRCP. The project included collaboration with the Centre, Singapore, and Adani Group.

Jagan said his government created a full ecosystem with 25,000 jobs, IT parks, skill colleges, and recreation centers. He added that Naidu only publicized these projects but did not initiate them. The foundation, he stressed, was built by YSRCP.
