Jagan Urges YSRCP MPs to Fight for Cyclone-Hit Farmers in Parliament

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MPs to actively raise the issues of cyclone-affected farmers in Parliament ahead of the Winter Session. Addressing party representatives, the former CM emphasised the urgent need for emergency relief funds to support farmers who suffered extensive crop and property damage.
Jagan instructed MPs to highlight the importance of immediately restoring assured Minimum Support Price (MSP) procurement for agricultural produce, ensuring that farmers are not left financially vulnerable. He also called for coordinated steps to protest against the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) issue, which he described as adversely affecting local farmers and industries.
The former Chief Minister stressed that raising these concerns at the national level is crucial to secure timely assistance and safeguard farmer interests. Party leaders and MPs were urged to remain proactive and united in advocating for swift government action to mitigate the aftermath of the cyclone.
