Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has approached the Supreme Court challenging the recent elections in Bihar and seeking fresh polls. The petition is likely to come up for hearing on Friday, February 6, 2026.

In its plea, the party has raised concerns over the conduct of the elections and alleged that the process was not fair. It has also questioned the government’s decision to announce a direct cash transfer of ₹10,000 to women, claiming that it influenced voters and affected the level playing field during the elections.

The Jan Suraaj Party argued that such financial promises close to elections can impact voter choice and go against democratic principles. It has asked the court to examine the issue and take appropriate action.

Election authorities have not yet responded to the petition. The case is important as it deals with election fairness and the use of welfare schemes during poll periods. The Supreme Court’s decision will be closely watched by political parties and observers.
