The Jeevika Didi second installment issue has sparked a political debate in Bihar. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said more than one crore women have not received the promised money.
He said the government promised financial help to women before the elections. Many women still wait for the payment. According to him, about 18 lakh women did not receive the first installment.
Tejashwi Yadav also said over one crore women still wait for the second payment. He urged the government to release the money soon. He said poor women depend on this support.
The Jeevika Didi second installment should reach women within six months after the elections. However, many beneficiaries say they have not received the amount yet.
The Bihar government has not given a clear reply to these claims so far.
