Jharkhand Assembly Silver Jubilee celebrations begin this week as the House prepares for a major milestone. The energy in Ranchi grew stronger on Friday when Somesh Chandra Soren took oath as the newly elected MLA from Ghatsila. Speaker Ravindranath Mahto administered the oath in his chamber. Supporters greeted Somesh warmly and filled the Assembly with enthusiasm. The moment added excitement to the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Silver Jubilee event.
The Assembly will mark its 25th foundation day on November 22. Officials plan a grand cultural celebration. Police personnel and soldiers who laid down their lives in Naxal operations will receive honours. A cultural programme will start at 6 pm, featuring singer Roop Kumar Rathore. Comedians Dinesh Bawra and Ravindra Jani will also perform. Local artists like Pramanda Nanda and Mrinalini Akhori will showcase Jharkhand’s music and folk dance traditions.
Another highlight is the Outstanding MLA Award. BJP MLA Raj Sinha will receive the honour for his work in the Assembly. Athletes and individuals who served society with dedication will also be recognised.
Senior JMM leader Stephen Marandi joined Somesh Soren during the ceremony, showing unity within the party. Many leaders, officials, and workers congratulated Somesh and welcomed him to the Assembly.
