JS University fake degree case has led to strong action by the Uttar Pradesh government. The state cancelled the university’s recognition over allegations of selling fake BPEd degrees. The action links to irregularities found in Rajasthan’s PTI Recruitment Examination 2022.
The Rajasthan Special Operations Group uncovered the scam during its investigation. The probe revealed that over 2,000 candidates applied using fake BPEd degrees issued by JS University. Based on evidence, the SOG registered FIRs against around 165 candidates.
Investigators examined the university’s server data in detail. The findings shocked officials. Between 2017 and 2022, at least 203 candidates secured government jobs using degrees from the university. Only one degree passed verification. Authorities flagged the remaining certificates as fake.
The case pushed authorities in Uttar Pradesh to act. The state government cancelled the university’s recognition after reviewing the findings. Officials said such action was necessary to protect the integrity of education and recruitment systems.
Rajasthan Staff Selection Board Chairman Major General Alok Raj reacted on social media. He said justice may take time, but it always arrives. He credited the Board’s initiative, the SOG’s firm investigation, and proactive steps by the Yogi government. He added that the action should serve as a warning to youth to follow honest paths.
