Kama Water Crisis MLA row intensified after legislator Nauksham Chaudhary strongly reprimanded water department officials over acute shortages. The incident occurred during the state government’s ‘Vikas Rath’ outreach programme, marking two years of the Bhajanlal-led government in Rajasthan.

When the development convoy reached Kama, residents shared ground realities with the MLA. Several women complained that many wards had not received water for six consecutive days. The revelation visibly angered Chaudhary. She immediately called senior officials and demanded urgent action. In a sharp warning, she said that if officials could not provide water to citizens, they should disconnect the supply to her office as well.

The MLA directed officers to visit every ward the very next day. She asked them to verify the situation on the ground and resolve the crisis without delay. Chaudhary stressed that development claims lose meaning when people struggle for basic needs like drinking water. She said governance must first address essentials.

After the confrontation, the MLA also announced a major decision for the region. She revealed that the long-pending demand to rename Kama would soon be fulfilled. According to her, the town will be renamed ‘Kamvan’ in the new year. The change aims to restore the area’s cultural and mythological identity.

Residents welcomed both the strict action and the announcement.
