Kerala’s Thiruvonam Bumper: ₹25 Crore Jackpot Won by Alappuzha Resident
In a life-changing moment, Sarath S. Nair, a private firm employee from Alappuzha, has won the ₹25-crore Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery, Kerala’s biggest festive jackpot. Sarath purchased the lucky ticket (TE 230662) from a lottery stall operated by agent Latheesh at Nettoor in Ernakulam, just days before the draw.
The windfall has stunned Sarath, who reportedly bought the ticket on a whim while traveling for work. A regular lottery buyer, he had never imagined hitting the jackpot. “It still feels unreal,” he said after learning of the win.
The Thiruvonam Bumper, part of Kerala’s Onam celebrations, is one of the most anticipated lotteries in the state, offering massive prizes and drawing participants from across Kerala.
Lottery officials confirmed that Sarath will receive the prize after mandatory tax deductions and identity verification. The agent, too, is set to receive a commission of ₹2.5 crore.
