Bihar Vidhan Sabha Today entered its third day with several important developments. Bihar Vidhan Sabha Today also saw Governor Arif Mohammad Khan addressing a joint session of the Assembly and the Legislative Council. He spoke to the MLAs and the Deputy Speaker in the Central Hall of the extended Assembly building. The election for Deputy Speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav is also scheduled for Wednesday.
On December 4, the House will take up a debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address. The government will give its reply on the same day. On December 5, a discussion will be held on the Second Supplementary Expenditure Statement and the related Appropriation Bill.
Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar highlighted the importance of Prem Kumar’s unopposed election as Speaker. He urged all MLAs to cooperate and maintain discipline in the House. Members stood together and greeted the Speaker after his request.
Nitish Kumar also became the Leader of the House in the Legislative Council.
During his speech, the Governor mentioned key welfare schemes, including free electricity up to 125 units and steps to reduce communal tensions. He also spoke about support for women through free uniforms, bicycles, and the Women Employment Scheme, which has transferred ₹10,000 to 1.56 crore women.
