As the Bihar Assembly election campaign ends for the first phase, Bhojpuri star and RJD candidate Khesari Lal Yadav made headlines with his sharp remarks on development and temple politics. Contesting from Chhapra, he said building the Ram Mandir is important, but hospitals, jobs, and education are equally vital.
Speaking to ANI, Khesari said, “If you seek votes for the temple, why should I comment on the mosque? Build temples everywhere, but will temples decide our children’s future?” He added that real progress comes from development, not religious slogans.
Responding to critics, he said faith should be in the heart, not limited to temples. “Saying Sanatan doesn’t make one human,” he remarked, targeting opponents who questioned his beliefs.
Khesari also accused rivals of diverting public attention from real issues. “Talk about what your government has done, not about me,” he said. He added that people want better jobs and governance, not distractions.
He concluded by urging voters to focus on progress, not fear. “They talk about jungle raj even after 20 years. What Mangal Raj exists today?” he asked.
