Kremlin Says Putin Invited to Join Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited by U.S. President Donald Trump to join a newly proposed “Board of Peace” aimed at helping resolve conflicts and oversee governance and reconstruction in Gaza, the Kremlin said. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin received the offer through diplomatic channels but said Moscow is currently seeking to “clarify all the nuances” of the proposal with Washington before deciding whether to participate.
The invitation is part of Trump’s broader initiative to involve major global leaders in a peace framework that could extend beyond the Middle East. While the Board of Peace would be chaired by Trump and include figures from various countries, Russia has not yet indicated its willingness to join. Putin has in the past praised efforts toward conflict resolution, and Russia’s role in the Middle East has evolved amid its own geopolitical challenges, including the ongoing war in Ukraine and shifting alliances in the region.
