Hyderabad, September 9: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) firmly denied that his party functions as a “B-Team” for any national party. He issued this clarification after Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticized BRS and BJD on social media platform X ahead of the Vice President election.
Ramesh claimed that both parties had supported the BJP in Parliament over the past decade and were now skipping the Vice President poll. He questioned the political consequences of their decision, suggesting that it reflected silent backing of the ruling party.
KTR countered sharply, accusing Congress of arrogance. “This attitude is exactly why Congress keeps failing in modern politics,” he said. He warned the party against pushing the argument of “with us or against us,” which, he stressed, weakens democratic debate.
Emphasizing BRS’s independent stance, KTR declared, “We are not Congress’s ally or BJP’s B-Team. We are Telangana’s A-Team.” He urged Congress to stop targeting BRS and instead fix its own shortcomings. His remarks underline BRS’s position as a regional force with a people-first approach, separate from the power struggles of national parties.
