BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) commemorated the 14th anniversary of the Sakala Janula Samme, calling it a historic turning point in the struggle for Telangana statehood. In a tweet, he said the strike highlighted how strong and united the people’s aspiration for a separate state was.
KTR recalled that on September 12, 2011, during the Karimnagar Jana Garjana, BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) gave the call for the mass strike, which was met with overwhelming participation across Telangana. The movement resonated with the slogan “Aur ek dhakka, Telangana pakka” (One more push, Telangana is certain), symbolizing the people’s determination.
He expressed gratitude to all those who took part in the agitation, noting that the strike not only paralyzed the state’s functioning but also carried the intensity of Telangana’s demand all the way to Delhi , ensuring national attention and eventual success of the statehood movement.
