Kumbh Mela-Like Arrangements Planned for Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara, Says CM
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday announced that the State government would make Kumbh Mela-like arrangements for the upcoming Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara at Medaram, one of the largest tribal festivals in the country. Addressing officials at Medaram in Mulugu district, he said the government was committed to providing world-class facilities to the lakhs of devotees expected to attend the biennial event.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure adequate drinking water, sanitation, healthcare services, power supply, traffic management, and safety measures across the Jatara area and surrounding villages. Temporary roads, shelters, and medical camps would be set up, while special attention would be given to crowd control and emergency response systems.
Mr. Reddy emphasised that the Jatara reflected the cultural and spiritual identity of tribal communities and deserved the same level of administrative focus as major national religious gatherings. He assured that funds and manpower would not be a constraint in ensuring a smooth and safe festival for devotees.
