Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta has acknowledged growing dissatisfaction over the way local groups are represented in talks with the Centre. He said many people believe their voices are not being heard properly. Despite this concern, he remains hopeful that continued discussions will help solve the issue.
Gupta praised the Jammu and Kashmir Police for uncovering a white-collar terror network. He demanded strict action against anyone involved in funding or supporting extremist activities.
He confirmed that the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) recently submitted a 29-page proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). But he admitted that the present team of representatives does not reflect everyone’s expectations. Gupta has already shared a report with the MHA and expects all stakeholders to meet again to correct the imbalance.
Former Ladakh Buddhist Association leader Tondup Tsewang Chhospa also expressed concern. He said the Buddhist community still feels underrepresented in the ongoing talks.
Gupta appealed to the people of Ladakh to maintain peace. He warned that radicalisation must be stopped at all levels. He assured that he is committed to a fair and inclusive solution that respects every community in the region.
