Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi have asked the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court to stop daily hearings in the Lalu Prasad Yadav IRCTC scam trial. They said it’s hard to prepare because four related cases are happening at the same time. Their lawyer, Maninder Singh, said the charge sheet has 18,000 pages and a 250-page order. He asked for more time to study the case.
The lawyer also said Lalu is busy with political work, so daily hearings are not possible. But CBI lawyer D.P. Singh opposed the plea. He said cases of MPs and MLAs must move fast as per Supreme Court rules. The judge asked CBI to respond to Lalu’s request soon.
CBI said Lalu took land and shares as bribes while leasing IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri. Lalu, Rabri, and Tejashwi called the Lalu Prasad Yadav IRCTC scam trial politically motivated and claimed there is no proof.
