Land for Jobs Scam: Delhi High Court Rejects Lalu Yadav Plea

Lalu Prasad Yadav in land for jobs scam case hearing

The land for jobs scam saw a major development after the Delhi High Court rejected a plea by Lalu Prasad Yadav. The court refused to cancel the CBI case linked to the land for jobs scam, calling the petition “devoid of merit.”

Justice Ravinder Dudeja delivered the verdict on Tuesday. The court allowed the investigation and trial to continue without interruption. The Central Bureau of Investigation had filed the FIR in 2022.

The case relates to alleged Group D railway jobs given between 2004 and 2009. Investigators claim that land parcels were taken from candidates in exchange for jobs. These properties were reportedly transferred to the names of Yadav’s family members or close associates.

Yadav argued that the probe was invalid due to a lack of prior sanction. However, the court rejected this claim and allowed the case to move forward.
