Light rainfall in Delhi on Wednesday morning brought slight relief from rising temperatures, but pollution levels remained a concern. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert as a western disturbance affected the region. Several areas witnessed patchy showers along with mild winds, creating cooler conditions across the city.

Despite the rain, Delhi’s air quality stayed in the “poor” category. The average AQI stood at 225 at 9 am on Wednesday, compared to 249 on Tuesday evening. Authorities continue to monitor pollution levels as residents hope for further improvement.

The maximum temperature had crossed 30°C for two consecutive days earlier this week. On Tuesday, it reached 30.9°C, which was about seven degrees above normal for February. Weather experts now expect the temperature to drop to around 26°C on Wednesday. However, forecasts suggest a gradual rise again, with temperatures likely to touch 30°C by Sunday.

Light rainfall in Delhi may offer temporary comfort, but long-term air quality improvement still depends on sustained weather changes and pollution control efforts.
