The incident happened on Thursday evening in Imadpur village under Bhagwanpur police station area. A young man died from a gunshot wound, while his girlfriend suffered injuries and was rushed to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for treatment.
According to police, lover dies girlfriend shot during a suspected dispute linked to their relationship. The boy’s body was found in a nearby banana grove. However, officers did not find the gun at the scene, which raised doubts about whether it was murder or suicide.
The victim was identified as Pankaj Kumar, a resident of Imadpur village. Locals said the couple had been in a relationship for several years and lived close to each other.
Pankaj’s father accused the girl’s family of killing his son after discovering the relationship. Meanwhile, the girl’s father claimed Pankaj entered their house to rob money kept for his daughter’s wedding and shot her before killing himself.
Police have sealed the area and launched an investigation to determine the truth.
