Ludhiana DC Enforces Liquor Rules with a clear warning to hospitality businesses across the district. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain has directed all hotels, restaurants, dhabas, bars, and pubs to strictly avoid serving liquor to anyone below 25 years of age. He stressed zero tolerance for violations of excise laws.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over reports of liquor being served during live shows and DJ parties without prior approval. He said such practices can trigger law and order issues. All establishments must follow licensed operating hours and stop service immediately after permitted timings.
DC Jain instructed staff to verify age proofs carefully and reject fake or forged identity cards. He ordered loud music, DJ sessions, and parties to end within approved hours to control noise pollution. Organisers must obtain prior permission before hosting special events or gatherings.
He also directed that liquor service must stop immediately if any disturbance occurs. The incident must be reported to the nearest police station without delay.
To ensure strict compliance, the administration has formed special enforcement teams. Sub-Divisional Magistrates are leading these teams with ACPs, DSPs, Excise, and Food Safety officials. These teams are conducting surprise inspections across Ludhiana.
DC Jain warned that violations will lead to FIR registration and strict legal action. He stated firmly that the administration will not spare any offender.
