French President Emmanuel Macron concluded his Mumbai engagements on Tuesday and departed for New Delhi to participate in the prestigious AI Impact Summit, a major global gathering focused on artificial intelligence governance and innovation. His visit underscores the growing strategic and technological partnership between India and France.
During his stay in Mumbai, Macron held high-level discussions with Indian officials and business leaders aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in emerging technologies, defence, and innovation. He also attended events promoting the India-France Year of Innovation 2026, which seeks to boost collaboration between startups, research institutions, and industry from both nations.
Following the Mumbai leg of his visit, the French President travelled to New Delhi, where he is scheduled to join world leaders, policymakers, and tech industry executives at the AI Impact Summit. The summit is being hosted at Bharat Mandapam and has drawn global attention for its focus on responsible AI development, regulation, and international cooperation.
Macron is expected to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the summit. Discussions are likely to cover artificial intelligence collaboration, digital infrastructure, climate technology, and defence ties between the two countries.
