The famous temple town of Srisailam celebrated Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams with great devotion and enthusiasm. Thousands of devotees gathered to take part in the special events such as ‘Rathotsavam’ and ‘Teppotsavam’.

During the Rathotsavam, a grand temple chariot was taken out in a procession. The chariot was beautifully decorated with 11 varieties of flowers, including marigold, chrysanthemum, and roses. Devotees pulled the chariot from the main Gopuram to Nandi Circle and back while chanting prayers and singing devotional songs.

Later, the Teppotsavam (float festival) was held in the temple tank. The idols were placed on a decorated boat and taken around the water amid religious rituals.

Temple priests conducted special poojas throughout the day. Officials made proper arrangements for crowd control, security, and basic facilities to ensure that the celebrations were held peacefully and smoothly.
