Union Power Minister Manohar Lal will lead India at the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting in South Africa from October 7 to 10. The summit, held under South Africa’s G20 Presidency in KwaZulu Natal, will gather global energy leaders to discuss key challenges.
Manohar Lal will participate in sessions on energy security, clean cooking, and sustainable industrial development. The discussions aim to boost international cooperation for affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy access. These goals are vital for economic growth and the Sustainable Development Goals.
He will showcase India’s progress in renewable energy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India now produces 50 percent of its total power capacity from renewable sources, exceeding global targets. This milestone highlights India’s strong commitment to a cleaner, greener, and inclusive energy future.
The minister will also share India’s experience in providing affordable energy, especially in rural areas. He will urge global collaboration for a just and equitable energy transition. The initiative aligns with the “One Earth, One Family, One Future” vision.
