Meta has unveiled the Ray-Ban Display, its first smart glasses with an augmented reality screen, at the Meta Connect event. The new model is a step up from the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses launched in 2023 and includes several advanced features.
The glasses look similar to the earlier design, with an ultra-wide camera, microphones, and open-ear speakers. But this time, a heads-up display (HUD) sits at the bottom of the right lens. It is a 600×600 resolution screen with 5,000 nits brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate. Despite the high brightness, only two percent light leaks out, so others cannot see the display.
The glasses weigh 69g and come with transition lenses that support prescriptions. The 12MP camera captures detailed photos and 1080p videos. With 32GB of storage, users can save up to 1,000 images or 100 short videos.
Meta also introduced the Neural Band, a wristband that reads tiny muscle signals to control the glasses with finger movements. It is splash-resistant, durable, and lasts up to 18 hours on a charge.
Priced at $799 (around ₹70,100), the Meta Ray-Ban Display will be available in the US from September 30. Launches in Canada, France, Italy, and the UK are planned for next year, but there are no India launch plans yet.
