A mild earthquake was felt in Visakhapatnam early Tuesday morning. According to the National Seismology Centre, the tremor measured 3.7 on the Richter scale. It occurred between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., shaking several parts of the city briefly.
Residents from areas like Gajuwaka, Madhurawada, Rushikonda, Bheemili, Kailasapuram, Maharani Peta, Visalakshinagar, and Akkayyapalem reported short bursts of shaking. Some locals also mentioned hearing rumbling sounds during the tremor, adding to their anxiety.
Although the intensity was low, the sudden vibrations created panic among citizens. Many rushed out of their homes as a precaution, fearing stronger aftershocks. The incident caught several people off guard due to its unexpected timing before dawn.
Authorities confirmed that no damage or injuries occurred. Emergency teams monitored the affected regions to ensure safety. Relief followed quickly as residents realized the quake had caused no major harm to people or property in Visakhapatnam.
