The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Friday highlighted two key nutrition initiatives. These are Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0.
In a post on X, the PMO praised Union Minister Annapurna Devi’s article on integrated nutrition support. The programmes aim to improve nutrition for children, adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
The initiatives focus on addressing malnutrition with better content and efficient delivery. They also build an ecosystem that promotes wellness and immunity.
“Millions benefit through Anganwadi centers across India,” the PMO said. “Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 are improving nutrition every day.”
Union Minister Annapurna Devi stressed the vast reach of Anganwadi services. Nearly 14 lakh centers are active, serving close to 10 crore beneficiaries. Over eight crore of these are children.
The ministry works on the principle of “one meal at a time.” This ensures consistent nutritional support for families.
Poshan 2.0 also seeks to develop human capital. It encourages good eating habits and addresses deficiencies that affect long-term health.
These efforts aim to create lasting awareness. Together, they strengthen India’s fight against malnutrition and support healthier futures for children and mothers.
