In a fresh twist to the liquor scam case, YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy surrendered at Rajahmundry Central Jail on Thursday evening. Police officials confirmed that he was taken into custody as part of ongoing proceedings.
On Friday, authorities began shifting Mithun Reddy to Vijayawada for further legal action. His surrender followed the expiry of his interim bail granted by the ACB Court in Vijayawada. The bail was approved on special conditions to allow him to cast his vote in the recent Vice President election.
After utilizing his voting rights in Delhi, Mithun Reddy returned to Andhra Pradesh once the court’s bail period ended. Sources said he voluntarily appeared before the jail authorities, complying with the court’s directive. His surrender has now paved the way for the continuation of trial procedures.
The liquor scam case has remained one of the most high-profile controversies in Andhra Pradesh politics. With Mithun Reddy back in custody, political circles are closely watching how the case unfolds. The state government and investigating agencies are expected to intensify their probe in the coming days.
