In a major political development, MNS spokesperson Prakash Mahajan resigns, saying he was “ignored despite least expectations.” He announced his resignation on Saturday (September 13, 2025) through a video message.
Prakash Mahajan is the brother of late Union Minister and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan. He said he never received recognition for his work in the MNS. Instead, he was blamed for mistakes he never committed. The MNS spokesperson Prakash Mahajan resigns mainly due to a lack of respect within the party.
In his video, Mahajan said he never aimed for posts or election tickets. His only sentiment was to protect Hindutva. Despite this, he was sidelined during both Lok Sabha and assembly elections. He added that he was used only for campaigning and never consulted on strategy.
Mahajan also apologised to MNS leader Amit Thackeray. He said he had promised to work with him and his son but could not keep his word. He explained that sometimes, despite commitment, a person does not get what he deserves.
Speaking later, Mahajan linked his resignation to advancing age and lack of respect. He also disagreed with Raj Thackeray’s comments on the Kumbh Mela and the Pahalgam terror attack. He confirmed he has no plans to join another party.
