The Mokama tractor trolley accident created shock and fear during a wedding in Bihar’s Mokama. The incident happened in Chhatarpura village, where about 50 women were walking to a temple for a wedding ritual. The Mokama tractor trolley accident occurred when an uncontrolled trolley loaded with soil suddenly rammed into the group.
Batasha Devi (70) died on the spot. Two women received minor injuries, and many others escaped narrowly. She had come to attend her nephew’s wedding and was preparing for the temple visit when the trolley hit the crowd.
The happy atmosphere in the wedding house turned into mourning. Even then, the wedding procession later left for Begusarai. Villagers blocked the road for some time in anger, demanding action.
Police reached the location and assured the villagers. Officers seized the tractor trolley, and teams are searching for the absconding driver. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
In another incident nearby, an elderly man named Gopal Prasad (60) suffered serious injuries when an unknown vehicle hit him on a flooded road in Achaura village. He received treatment at a divisional hospital and was later shifted to PMCH.
