Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said A.P. CM calls for better rail connectivity from seaports to hinterlands to support economic growth. He said improved rail links would help industries move goods faster and reduce pressure on roads. A.P. CM calls for better rail connectivity from seaports to hinterlands across five States.
Speaking at a review meeting, Naidu stressed the need for strong rail corridors connecting ports to interior regions. He said Andhra Pradesh plays a key role in coastal trade and needs efficient transport networks to serve neighbouring States.
The Chief Minister asked the Railways to prepare clear strategies to reduce congestion at major railway junctions. He said delays at busy nodes increase logistics costs and hurt exporters.
Naidu also highlighted the need for coordination between the Centre and States. He said joint planning would help identify priority routes and fast-track projects.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on existing rail infrastructure and proposed upgrades. They discussed dedicated freight corridors, port-linked rail lines, and modern signalling systems.
Naidu said better rail connectivity would attract investment, boost port-led development, and create jobs. He urged the Railways to act quickly and align projects with future industrial needs.
