Amid concerns over poor infrastructure in Bengaluru, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has pitched Vizag as an alternative for businesses. The offer came in response to BlackBuck CEO Rajesh Yabaji’s post, where he announced the company’s decision to move out of Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road area due to worsening commute times and deteriorating roads.
In a post on X, Nara Lokesh invited BlackBuck to relocate, highlighting Vizag’s ranking as one of India’s cleanest cities, its growing infrastructure, and its status as the safest city for women. He encouraged the CEO to reach out for further discussions.
Yabaji explained that the average commute for his colleagues had increased to over 1.5 hours one way, with poor road conditions and no sign of improvement in the future. This prompted the company to consider relocating.
Prominent industry figures, including Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Mohandas Pai, have criticized the situation in Bengaluru, calling it a failure of governance. Nara Lokesh’s offer aims to attract businesses to Andhra Pradesh and boost investment in Vizag.
